Raised in the outdoor playground that is Northern California, Erik developed a love for the outdoors. His mother, an avid skier from Utah, put him on skis at an early age, immediately falling in love with the mountains, freedom and raw speed of the sport.
At 18 Erik headed to BYU to play soccer. Setting up camp at the foot of the Wasatch Mountains his passion for skiing won over the desire to play ball. Graduating with a degree in Graphic Design Erik put his efforts toward making a name for himself in the ski industry.
His athleticism has earned him features in numerous major ski films, accolades from magazines such as Powder, Skiing, Outside, Rolling Stone, Sports Illustrated, Men's Journal, FHM, and sponsorship from Hurley, Rockstar, Scott, Klint, DNA and Backcountry.com.
In constant pursuit of excitement and excellence, Erik has co-pioneered ski BASE jumping. Traveling everywhere with skis and parachute in tow, Erik has made numerous first descent ski BASE lines from Chile to Argentina to Alaska to New Zealand and all over Europe.
In 2005 Motocross legend Travis Pastrana, and the Nitro Circus crew contacted Erik to help BASE jump dirt bikes into the Grand Canyon. Erik fit right in with the off-the-wall athletes and was asked to officially join the Nitro Circus Crew. The result was two seasons with MTV, a sold out live World Tour, and the recent completion of a 3D feature film.
To quote Hunter S. Thompson,"Faster, faster, faster until the thrill of speed overcomes the fear of death."
Stay tuned for more of Erik’s adventures.
